Have you ever wanted to give back to your community but didn't know how? Do you like helping others? Do you like being part of a team to accomplish things? If so, we have a place for you!!!! There is no better feeling than to help a friend, neighbor, or even a complete stranger in their time of need. The Cherokee Creek Volunteer Fire Department is constantly seeking qualified and trustworthy individuals to join our team. 


Most people are under the impression that since we are a "Fire Department", if you join you have to be a firefighter.... Not true, there is a place for you!!!! While we are seeking firefighters you can also join to be strictly a Medical First Responder, Driver / Engineer, Support (bringing drinks and refreshments to fire scenes among other things. See below for requirements to join.


Requirements for Membership:


Junior Member:


Our department has adopted a "Junior Firefighter" membership. This allows guys and girls 16 and 17 years of age to join our department and be exposed to the fire service in hopes that they stay with us. While Junior Firefighters can not enter burning buildings or IDLH areas (Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health) they can participate in numerous activities under constant supervision of Officers and other Firefighters. They can also take most of their training classes through the South Carolina Fire Academy however their certifications will not take affect until their 18th birthday. Regular Member (Firefighter and all members over the age of 18):


Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must submit a current certified 10 year driving record from the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Must have a clean criminal history, also must be willing by law to submit to a Criminal Background Check (at no cost to you).

Must be honest, trustworthy, and willing to help.
